Commonwealth Glenville Apartments

Description: This project involved renovations to 235 occupied, low-incoming residential apartments in 17 buildings. Davis Square Architects was asked by Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation to assist with the renovation of Commonwealth-Glenville Apartments. Spanning 261,000 sf, this complex, historic occupied rehab includes accessibility, life safety and code upgrades as well as window and heating improvements. Selective unit work features kitchens, bathrooms, doors and flooring; with exterior work including selective repointing and repairs, canopy restoration, new storefronts and HC lifts. Common areas have also been renovated, and an all-new management office has been built out. The site work includes a new stormwater recharge system. This $17M project will help ensure the preservation of quality affordable housing for years to come.
