Description: Fenagh is working with the MIT Department of Facilities, Höweler and Yoon Architecture, BuroHappold Engineering, DePaoli Mosaic Company, New Hampshire Steel Fabricators, and Turner Construction on the design-build renovation of MIT Museum. Construction includes demolition and renovation of 6,700 square feet on the second floor of the Museum, as well as upgraded building infrastructure for future phased renovations including a chilled water system, fire protection floor zone, fire alarm control system, and HVAC building management system. The work on the second floor includes a build out of a catering support area, wall reconfiguration, updated flooring, painting and doors, and installation of updated mechanical and electrical elements. This job also includes coordination for the abatement of ceiling tiles, flooring, and insulation.
Scope of Work: We performed quality assurance observation and testing of concrete, masonry, aggregates, and soil inspections. This included Magnetic Particle Inspection per ASTM E709, observation of concrete placement, modulus of elasticity, and ASTM C138: Standard Test Method for Density, Yield, and Air Content (Gravimetric) of Concrete.
